Craig Lumb H.S.B.L.A. - President Event Coordinator, 2010 Nationals (714) 330-1645 clumb@statelifeguards.com www.uslanationals.org www.statelifeguards.com Details: THE OBJECTIVES OF THE UNITED STATES LIFESAVING ASSOCIATION’S (USLA) NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION ARE: (1) To acquaint the general public with water safety procedures and skills used daily by professional lifeguards to advance public safety at the beach; (2) To stimulate personal interest in rescue skills training; (3) To sustain and uplift employee morale; and, (4) To create more harmonious relationships among the various lifeguard agencies and associated USLA Chapters. DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE 2010 USLA NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION The event will be hosted by the Huntington State Beach Lifeguard Association (HSBLA) and will be held near Beach Boulevard at Huntington State Beach, California. Over 1,000 Lifeguards and Junior Lifeguards from across the nation will compete. 100,000 spectators over the four day event are expected to visit the competition. There will be local and national radio, television, and web streaming coverage. ABOUT THE NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION AND THE COMPETITORS Lifeguards and Junior Lifeguards from across the nation compete in more than one dozen highly skilled beach and ocean races. The USLA National Lifeguard Competition includes races in open water swimming, lifesaving crafts use, beach runs and other team events. These races challenge lifeguards in their skills, athleticism, endurance and their abilities to protect the public from ocean hazards. The events challenge lifeguards’ mental and physical endurance, and knowledge about the surf, currents and the surrounding environment. Lifeguards who compete in this event range from 9 to 75 years old. THE NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION NEEDS YOU! The HSBLA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization who is hosting this year’s National Lifeguard Competition. We seek any individual or business who is interested in contributing to the successful execution of this wonderful competition. Your donations of money, products, equipment, or labor, or purchased advertisements are greatly appreciated. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES UNITED STATES LIFESAVING ASSOCIATION’S NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION $20,000 – TITLE SPONSOR This package includes your business identified as the Title Sponsor, with language such as, "THE UNITED STATES LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS, PRESENTED BY BUSINESS" This will appear on the USLA event webpage, and will remain in the archived webpage. This package also includes a full page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, a logo on the competitor T-shirt, posters and banners throughout the competition area, announcements/advertisements by the live commentators over the event’s amplified speaker system, and an event booth to market your business or sell your product. Any additional advertisements you wish to provide may also be included in the event. The announcer will mention your business name at least once per half hour as part of the title of the competition, and a representative from you business will be provided the opportunity to host a speech two times per day during the competition. Also included are 8 VIP passes to the event and the awards banquet. $10,000 – GOLD SPONSOR Includes a full page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, a logo on the competitor t-shirt, an event booth to market your business or sell your product, event banners, your logo listed on the USLA event webpage, and your organization’s name mentioned by the announcer at least once every 30 minutes and a representative from you business will be provided the opportunity to host a speech once per day during the competition. Also includes 4 VIP passes to the event and the awards banquet. $5,000 – SILVER SPONSOR Includes a half page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, a logo on the competitor t-shirt, event banners throughout the site, your logo listed on the USLA event webpage, and your organization’s name mentioned by the announcer at least once every 60 minutes. Also includes 2 VIP passes to the event and the awards banquet. Or, in lieu of the announcer mentioning your organization once every 60 minutes, your organization can sponsor a specific event, such as "THE AMERICAN IRON-MAN, SPONSORED BY BUSINESS." $1,500 – BRONZE SPONSOR Includes 5 banners of approximately 3’ x 10’ to be placed around the competition site and along the bike path, a quarter page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, and your logo listed on the USLA event webpage. UNITED STATES LIFESAVING ASSOCIATION’S NATIONAL LIFEGUARD COMPETITION AWARDS BANQUET Saturday, August 7th, location to be determined. $15,000 - $20,000 TITLE SPONSOR - AWARDS BANQUET Your business will be identified as a Title Sponsor for the Banquet, with language that will look similar to "THE UNITED STATES LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS BANQUET, PRESENTED BY BUSINESS" This will appear on the USLA event webpage, and will remain in the archived webpage. Also includes a full page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, a logo on the competitor t-shirt, and event banners throughout the competition and the banquet with priority location for banquet banners. You will be provided a booth at the competition and the banquet to market your business or sell your products. In addition, the banquet announcer will mention your business name at least once per twenty minutes as part of the title and a representative from you business will be provided the opportunity to host a speech during the awards banquet. A representative from your business will be provided the opportunity to hand out the USLA Championship “Howard Lee Trophy” to the winning team. Also includes 8 VIP passes to the event and the awards banquet. $10,000 – GOLD BANQUET Includes a full page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, your logo on the competitor t-shirts, primary booth space at the banquet and the competition, banquet banners, a logo on the USLA event webpage, and your business will be mentioned at least once every 30 minutes by the banquet announcer. Also includes 4 VIP passes to the event and the awards banquet. $5,000 – SILVER BANQUET Includes a half page advertisement in the National Lifeguard Competition Magazine, your logo on the competitor t-shirts, primary booth space at the banquet, banquet banners, a logo on the USLA event webpage, and your business will be mentioned at least once every 30 minutes by the banquet announcer.
