| State Lifeguard Praised for Rescue A letter from (kept confidential) to California State Lifeguards July 2, 2007 This note is to say “Thank you” to the kind lifeguard who helped out my son today at Bolsa Chica State Beach. Less than an hour ago, at around 11:45 a.m., we were at the beach with a group of friends and noticed the water was particularly rough and the waves were breaking close to shore. However, all the boys were having a great time and didn’t seem to notice. Right when I could see that my 11 year old son Zach was out a bit too far and starting to struggle, the lifeguard at Tower #22 noticed as well and was already running into the water. To make a long story short, Zach is safe, although still very shaken up. |
| The lifeguard spoke kindly to Zach when they got out of the water, asked him his name and told him "you did a good job out there." Our kids look up to lifeguards, and parents like me APPRECIATE so much a young man like this. Thank you for the excellent training you give your lifeguards, and since we don’t know his name, please extend our thanks to OUR lifeguard as well. |
